Date: Tuesday, August 04, 2009 My family and I spent a week in Townsend last month and I just wanted to send a quick note to let you know how much we loved the area!! A friend had recommended Townsend to us and I am so glad she did. We enjoyed every minute of it. We had planned to go to Gatlinburg for a day but my kids (2 teenage boys) preferred to stay put in Townsend. We visited Cades Cove and Tuckaleechee Caverns. The boys went tubing and we spent time walking and enjoying the peaceful side of the Smokies. We plan to return and bring friends and family with us next year! Kelly The Plains, OH

We spent two nights relaxing at a local campground, and really enjoyed everyone we met in the area. I have remarked to many people back home now, about how friendly everyone was to us, and we never felt like we were being taken advantage of as tourists .... the service and especially the prices we paid for purchases were very reasonable and appreciated .... you folks have really done a good job of getting the members of your business community to work together and make visitors feel at home.
